Phoebe’s first career was as a filmmaker.
She spent about 15 years as a director and producer, right up until the birth of her greatest little co-production.
Her short films and documentaries screened at film festivals around the world, and were finalists in several global competitions.
She completed television directing attachments on OFFSPRING (2012) and NEIGHBOURS (2011). She worked as both an in-house and freelance director for several video production companies, directing and producing broadcast TV commercials and online branded content.
She ran her own production business, Paper Plane Films, and co-founded the Melbourne film collective Wham Bam.
Before becoming a director, Phoebe worked on local and international film sets in a variety of production roles. She got her start in post production, and worked extensively as a producer of high-end animation and visual effects.
She continues to bring a cinematic sensibility to her writing.
